THE 2ND THREE SHADOWS EXPERIMENTAL IMAGE OPEN EXHIBITION
On June 27, 2015. Three Shadows Photography Art Centre celebrated its 8th anniversary. At the same time, the 2nd edition of the Three Shadows Experimental Image Open Exhibition (opened, while Daizai: Daido Moriyama opened at +3 Gallery.
At the anniversary celebration, Three Shadows received warm congratulations from Wang Huangsheng (Director of CAFA Museum), Wan Jie (Director and CEO of Artron Co. Ltd.), Zhang Zikang (Vice Director of NAMOC), Wang Yunpeng (Vice Director of Shanghai Minsheng Art Museum), Wang Daping (Director of CPRA), H.S. Liu (Director of Shanghai Center of Photography), Jacque Pellet (Counselor of French Embassy in China), Berenice Angremy (Cultural Officer of French Embassy in China and Consultant of Three Shadows), Kinya Horikoshi (President of amanasalto), Kyoko Wada (Editorial Director of anasalto), Sohey Moriyama (Delegate from the Daido Moriyama Foundation), and many more. We also received a letter of congratulations from strategic partner Modern Media.
Additionally, that evening Three Shadows signed a contract with Artron Co. Ltd. to formally become a member organization. Three Shadows Art Centre, +3 Gallery and Daido Moriyama Foundation will work together to promote Moriyama Daido’s work in Mainland China. RongRong & inri extended their warm welcome to all the guests present and gave special thanks to the 55 artists participating in the 2nd Three Shadows Experimental Open Image Exhibition.
This year's exhibition inherited the spirit of the first one, making reference to undefined themes and the freedom of selecting the medium for images. Artists were free to participate and create autonomously, improvising and presenting their work within a specified time and space, thus highlighting diversity and uncertainty. This year's artist lineup included renowned experimental artists as well as emerging artists, both domestic and international. The exhibition carried on the theme of experimentation and creates the challenge of creation within a limited time frame.
